Play Tangram Online

Play the tangram online with the same 19 figures as our printable puzzles. Drag the seven pieces from the tray onto the dark silhouette; the game tells you when the shape is complete. No download and no account — it works in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.

Choose a figure:

Drag the pieces onto the dark silhouette. Tap a piece to select it, then rotate or flip it. Double-click also rotates.

Tips for the online game

Place the two big triangles first — they are half of every figure.
The parallelogram is purple. If a shape refuses to fit, select it and use the Flip button: its mirror image is often the answer.
Pieces snap to a fine grid when you drop them, which makes exact fits easier on a touchscreen.
Start with the house, the boat or the rectangle; the heart, the cup and the bridge are the hardest figures here.

The 7 pieces you are moving

The tray holds the full tangram set at the same scale as the silhouette: two large triangles (red and blue), the medium triangle (orange), two small triangles (greens), the square (yellow) and the parallelogram (purple). Every figure on this page is a real, verified tangram: it can be completed exactly, with nothing left over and nothing sticking out. If a piece seems to fit nowhere, it usually belongs flipped or in the corner you already filled too early.
